So, I'm finally back in my home in Fredericksburg, VA and have started decorating for the Fall.
Don't you just love this time of year? The chilly nights, snuggling with a loved one, hot cocoa (or hot tottys?) and watching the changing leaves.
This year's mantel is inspired by the beautiful piece of art I picked up in New Orleans several years ago. The print looks so much like the road I live on, I couldn't resist buying it. The best part of it is during different times of the day, or by adding different lighting, the painting turns from morning to dusk. It's perfect in my home.
The painting was the easy part, I then added in some faux leaves, pumpkins, candles and the "thankful" banner I ordered on Etsy. The Etsy store loved my design so much, she even added the picture of my mantel to her store. I'm famous (well, in my own mind ha!).
The biscuit box came from a great little antique store in Midlothian, VA, and I added in the beautiful pillows my Mom made me years ago. The little pilgrims are from the Graves Mountain Apple Fest I got last year when shopping with my sister and my love. I added in the Fall subway art in a frame, and I think I'm done (for now).
Looking at my mantel each day does truly remind me to be thankful.
